Teen Empowerment: Exploring World Cultures & Peoples

How do we share a world with people from many different backgrounds and ways of living? Sankofa’s Teen Empowerment: Exploring World Cultures and Peoples will delve into an exploration of our multicultural and diverse world. They will investigate the unique traditions, cultures, beliefs, values, lifestyles, contributions, and challenges of other people sharing this planet. Through engaging activities, discussing real-world issues, viewing and listening to captivating stories, and exploring available reference sources, teens will identify commonalities, differences, and uniqueness among people around the world. Through their explorations, we appeal to them to become more respectful, empathetic, tolerant, and willing to appreciate people from different backgrounds and gain a fresh perspective on global citizenship. We won’t be able to cover the entire world but will do our best to cover many people in it to help your teen consider how to make a difference.
